It is a simultaneous visual search task with response latency dissociated from movement time. Efficient performance on this task requires the ability to search among the targets and ignore the distractor patterns which have elements in common with the target. This test can help to differentiate between Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease, and also between Lewy Body dementia and Alzheimer's disease. The participant is shown a complex visual pattern (the sample) in the middle of the screen, and then, after a brief delay, a varying number of similar patterns is shown in a circle of boxes around the edge of the screen. Only one of these boxes matches the pattern in the centre of the screen, and the participant must indicate which it is by touching it. Reaction time is measured on the basis of the release of the press-pad, which allows for its more accurate measurement.", "id_user": "usr_4de5345b3b6a8", "id": "trm_50f852c084fde", "type": "task", "conditions": [], "concepts": [{"id_concept_class": "ctp_C2", "creation_time": 1512660636540, "event_stamp": "2009-06-22T19:12:56", "def_id_user": "usr_4f177506dde77", "def_event_stamp": "2012-06-25T22:21:16", "last_updated": 1512660636540, "def_id": "def_4fe8e45c5bba8", "name": "visual search", "alias": "", "definition_text": "orienting for targets in an array or a natural scene, through both covert and overt shifts in attention; this is different from the visual search task in that it refers to a general phenomenon and not to a paradigm.", "id_user": "usr_0000000000", "relationship": "ASSERTS", "concept_id": "trm_4a3fd79d0b4cd", "contrasts": [{"id": "cnt_50f853460010d", "name": "number correct"}]}], "indicators": [{"type": "response time", "relationship": "HASINDICATOR"}], "external_datasets": [{"event_stamp": "2015-04-28T18:30:39", "id_term": "trm_50f852c084fde", "dataset_uri": "http://neurovault.org/collections/446/", "id_user": "usr_51bc76ae9636c", "id": "dst_553fd1cf350cb", "dataset_name": "The Default Mode of Human Brain Function Primes the Intentional Stance", "relationship": "HASEXTERNALDATASET"}], "implementations": [], "citation": [{"event_stamp": "2015-04-28T18:29:17", "citation_pubname": "Journal of cognitive neuroscience (J Cogn Neurosci)", "citation_pmid": "25603027", "citation_desc": "The Default Mode of Human Brain Function Primes the Intentional Stance.", "citation_type": "CT2", "citation_url": "http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/eutils/elink.fcgi?dbfrom=pubmed&id=25603027&retmode=ref&cmd=prlinks", "citation_comment": "", "id_user": "usr_51bc76ae9636c", "id": "cit_553fd17d07d46", "citation_source": "PubMed API", "citation_authors": "Spunt RP, Meyer ML, Lieberman MD", "citation_pubdate": "2015 Jan 20", "relationship": "HASCITATION"}, {"event_stamp": "2013-01-17T19:42:43", "citation_pubname": "The Journal of physiology (J Physiol)", "citation_pmid": "18703579", "citation_desc": "Hyperthermia impairs short-term memory and peripheral motor drive transmission.", "citation_type": "CT2", "citation_url": "http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/eutils/elink.fcgi?dbfrom=pubmed&id=18703579&retmode=ref&cmd=prlinks", "citation_comment": "", "id_user": "usr_4de5345b3b6a8", "id": "cit_50f85433085b7", "citation_source": "PubMed API", "citation_authors": "Racinais S, Gaoua N, Grantham J", "citation_pubdate": "2008 Oct 1", "relationship": "HASCITATION"}, {"event_stamp": "2013-01-17T19:41:17", "citation_pubname": "Psychopharmacology (Psychopharmacology (Berl))", "citation_pmid": "17136398", "citation_desc": "Differential responsiveness to caffeine and perceived effects of caffeine in moderate and high regular caffeine consumers.", "citation_type": "CT2", "citation_url": "http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/eutils/elink.fcgi?dbfrom=pubmed&id=17136398&retmode=ref&cmd=prlinks", "citation_comment": "", "id_user": "usr_4de5345b3b6a8", "id": "cit_50f853ddaaa49", "citation_source": "PubMed API", "citation_authors": "Attwood AS, Higgs S, Terry P", "citation_pubdate": "2007 Mar", "relationship": "HASCITATION"}, {"citation_pubname": "", "event_stamp": "2013-01-17T19:39:45", "citation_pmid": "", "citation_desc": "http://www.cantab.com/cantab-tests-Match-to-Sample-Visual-Search.asp?t=Attention", "citation_type": "CTM", "citation_url": "", "citation_comment": "", "id_user": "usr_4de5345b3b6a8", "id": "cit_50f8538198928", "citation_source": "Manual", "citation_authors": "", "citation_pubdate": "", "relationship": "HASCITATION"}], "contrasts": [{"creation_time": 1512660667848, "event_stamp": "2013-01-17T19:39:06", "last_updated": 1512660667848, "name": "false positives", "id_user": "usr_4de5345b3b6a8", "id": "cnt_50f8535a4f6f2", "conditions": []}, {"creation_time": 1512660667816, "event_stamp": "2013-01-17T19:38:45", "last_updated": 1512660667816, "name": "number correct", "id_user": "usr_4de5345b3b6a8", "id": "cnt_50f853460010d", "conditions": []}], "batteries": [{"creation_time": 1512660839387, "event_stamp": "2013-01-08T17:35:12", "website": "None", "last_updated": 1512660839387, "collection_alias": "CANTAB", "name": "Cambridge Neuropsychological Test Automated Battery", "collection_date_introduced": "None", "collection_publisher": "Cambridge Cognition", "id_user": "usr_49a467bf4e0db", "collection_description": "CANTAB is a battery of automated cognitive tests meant to capture a number of cognitive domains.", "id": "tco_50ec58d050cf5", "flag_for_curator": 1, "relationship": "INBATTERY"}], "disorders": []}
