The Positive Affect and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) is a 20-item self-report questionnaire used to measure the emotions of the respondent’s child during the past few weeks. The items are grouped into the two subscales with 10 items each: positive affect and negative affect. The respondent is asked to read several words which describe different feelings and emotions and enter a number that corresponds to the value on a scale to indicate the extent to which his/her child feels this way on average.
